Until Death Parts Us !!!!!

I, along with my family are on a trip to hill station. It started to drizzle. I was reading 'Mahabharatha' by Soma Guha. I am a voracious reader, since childhood. A great quality that I acquainted from my mother. I am happy that this great trait decided to pass on to me. :D . I completed the kurukshetra part and I was too overwhelmed with emotions. I closed my eyes. All the vivid images of battle-field , betrayal, love and everything was flowing through my mind. All were silent in the car, except of the silent zephyr flowing along with the light music that accompanied. I didn't know why but I was feeling strong emotions. I can feel my eyes moisten. I generally am very sensitive. 'I cry over sad' and 'grin over happy'. Often my mom caught me crying and I was embarrassed like hell. I could not pull up a good enough reason and my mom would always give a smug smile gazing at the book in my eyebrows. Without any further Wh- queries she would leave with  a smirk intact. My chain of thoughts were broken when my mom asked 'When shall we reach?' 'In an hour I suppose' dad said as he sat in the passenger seat visibly happy. Then the conversation started from what to do and all. The car suddenly screeched to a stop. I fell headlong hitting to the driver's seat. But the cushion preventing any damage to my head. Then what I saw left me shocked. The picture is still crystal clear in my mind. A boy and girl were there, met with serious accident seconds before. Their white shirts drenched in blood. It was horrific. The girl sat on a small railing that is at the curve. Her face abrassed on the right side. It was really terrific. My heart sped into miles. I never was that close to the victims. Then I got down the car and rushed to them. The bike lay across the road .The guy who was almost in shock panting till us. That is when I saw my mom and dad came running behind me. I was so engrossed that I didn't notice them getting out of the car. My sister came running with a water bottle. The girl was really scarred. Blood was running all across. It was really heart breaking. The girl poured water on her face and I heard someone near my earshot hissing and gaping. A few cars halted by the road side. The boy now started pleading. 'Please help us'  he was chanting. A man in his mid age said 'sorry but there is no space in our car.We are many' I felt pure disgust. Darn the people! I knew I was going to help them. I was trying to gauge my dad's expression. I think I saw his eyes moisten. The guy who was pleading, his expression was not visible behind the glares that he wore. I guessed he was too much shaken by the situation. That's when I heard him tell thanks aunty. Averting my gaze to the person he spoke. I was totally struck to the ground when I saw my mom already near the car with the girl hanging on her side. The girl was too lean. That very moment I smiled and my vision blurred. I noted that my eyes started their decent rush of tears. Wiping off as I ran back to the car and settling along with the girl. I caught hold of her hand. She was so cold. I felt a shiver run through my spine. My dad and sister settled in the passenger's seat and I then saw the guy running to our car. After little chaos we were all again ascending up the hill. The girl leaned onto the guy and slowly placing her head onto his shoulder now started whispering to him.'It's paining' she was telling. He was continuously telling her sorry. He was panting and crying. The car was now filled with the smell of fresh blood. Her one hand holding onto my palm. I tried to sooth her. But the myriad emotions I was going through is not even being comprehended by me. A moment till death and back again. All that I read now for a moment they were all vague but now hitting me hard. The car stopped near a check post and the driver asked about hospital and then he was told that there was a government hospital nearby 20 kms ahead. The facilities are good. Then we again were set to the hospital. Our destination long forgotten. No one spoke anything except the girl whimpering in pain and the boy crying. We finally reached the hospital and admitted her. That's when my dad took the guy to a side and asked everything after he was given the first- aid. From the information given it was clear that they were lovers and they came for a holiday. I and my sister strolling out of the hospital after giving a decent dress for the girl, deep in thought. So much for being happy and coming for a holiday. Her face will remain showing her the depth of the incident. It was not an accident. It was near fall to death. The girl's condition was serious. I heard my sister sniffing. It was audible through the violent winds that started to encompass the little hill. I just lay a hand on her shoulder. She smiled through her tears. A lady who was now coming out of the hospital asked us 'What is she for you?'. 'Nothing' we replied in unison. 'Then how...' she started. I was about to give her a good counter when my sister yelled out of blue. 'YOU SHOULD BE SOMETHING TO HER TO HELP?' I smiled. I saw the lady giving a serious glare but dismissed the thought of arguing more and walked down the hill and vanished round the corner. My sister gets irritated often. But that one time I was proud of her.

I learnt something precious that day. Life is too uncertain. Nevertheless living a life with morals and humanity and smiling till your cheeks pain and laughing till tears come and living like a legend every second matters. It REALLY MATTERS. You live with your loved until death parts you physically and you are bereaved.
